About Centre for Brain Research Research & Innovation (CBRAIN)
The Centre for Brain Research (CBR) is a self-governing research center located in Bengaluru, hosted by the Indian Institute of Science campus. It was established with a generous donation from the Pratiksha Trust, founded by Mr. Kris Gopalakrishnan, one of the co-founders of Infosys Limited, and Mrs. Sudha Gopalakrishnan. CBR focuses on cutting-edge research on the aging brain and age-associated brain disorders, representing a unique initiative in the current research environment in India.
Aim of the Centre for Brain Research Research & Innovation (CBRAIN)
The aim of CBR is to conduct transformational research to understand the functioning of the aging brain in health and disease. They have initiated comprehensive, long-term studies of cognition, genetics, and brain imaging in the elderly population. The diversity of the Indian population is a significant advantage for carrying out such studies to identify potential protective and risk factors.
Centre for Brain Research Research & Innovation (CBRAIN) Internships
CBR is pleased to announce the launch of CBRAIN internships, a summer internship program designed to share the excitement and vibrancy of CBR’s research and innovation ecosystem with bright, motivated, and aspiring students. The internship will provide rigorous training and preparation for world-class, multidisciplinary brain aging research on normal and/or pathological brain aging. Internship opportunities in cellular and molecular neuroscience, neurophysiology, genetics, computational genomics, artificial intelligence and machine learning, cognition, and clinical research would be available.
