Our planet faces major conservation challenges from such threats as climate change, deforestation, overfishing, and the illegal trade in wildlife.
But protecting our planet and keeping our planet warm below 1.5C (2.7 ° F) is not impossible and none of us need to do it alone.
Our impact on the planet is largely due to what we eat, what we buy, how we empower our homes, and how we move from place to place. Of course, government policies and protections also play an important role.
Together, we can take action to create sustainable solutions and protect the future of the environment.
At WWF, we are committed to protecting the planet. Will you join us?
I commit …
Reduce my carbon footprint by monitoring the electricity I use and switching to power selection where energy is available.
Improving my daily commute to work or school on foot, by bicycle, by carpool, or by public transportation. This reduces our fuel consumption per person and helps all of us to save energy.
Reducing food waste in my home from current levels and buying only what I need – knowing that I will also save money.
Buying products that help protect forests such as those with the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) label, or seafood from sustainable fishing practices such as those with the Marine Stewardship Council (MSC) label. And, where possible, I am looking for products that use stable palm oil and have a Roundtable label on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSP).
Signing petitions, sending messages to elected officials, calling on my representatives, and being the voice for the planet to help create and support policies that recognize and respect the value of the environment.
I will make a difference in nature and in people. The WWF can count on me to help protect our planet.
