About Ministry Of External Affairs Internship Programme 2022
The Ministry of External Affairs is launching the first edition of the MEA Internships Program as part of the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav celebrations to commemorate 75 years of independence.
The MEA Internship Policy 2022 plans to put foreign policy closer to the people, promote variety in terms of qualifications, citizenship, and socio-economic position among the group of interns employed by the Ministry, and deliver more value to the interns.
Perks & Benefits For Employees
Each intern will be paid a stipend of INR 10,000 per month to help with living expenses. The cost of one-time to and back air travel between the State capital and Delhi, subject to a limitation of the current economy class air ticket, from the domicile State or from the college/university of the shortlisted candidates will be supplied. During their internship, the interns will be responsible for their own board and housing in Delhi.
Eligibility Criteria For Ministry Of External Affairs Internship Programme
- Internships at the MEA headquarters will be applicable to Citizens with a graduate degree from any recognized university at the time of application.
- Internships will also be open to students who are currently pursuing graduation and must be in the final year.
- Candidates must be under the age of 25 as of December 31st of the internship year.

Selection Procedure
The application and selection procedure will be conducted purely digitally at www.internship.mea.gov.in. To participate in the process, interested and eligible candidates must first register on the internship portal and get access credentials. Preliminary Screening and Personal Interviews will be the two steps of the selection process. The application process will be based on a quota cum weightage system, with applications from all 28 states and 8 union territories being considered. A minimum of 30% of the 75 internship positions must be filled by women. Academic performance will be weighted based on a percentage of marks gained in +2 and graduate exams.”
