ABOUT GURUJAL

GuruJal is an integrated water management initiative, which aims to address the issues of water
scarcity, groundwater depletion, flooding and stagnation in the Gurugram District of Haryana. We aim
to collaborate with the different stakeholders of the district like corporates, civil society, and research
organizations to address the issue using the systems thinking approach.

Our Focus:
The focus is to work on improving the compliances of schemes and policies supporting water
conservation, following up on the better enforcement of rules and regulations to mitigate water
exploitation, extensive campaigning to sensitize people, come up with better design solutions for the
current standing issues and work towards making a better policy framework for water management.
Keeping the gaps and urgency of the issue in mind, a composite water management approach and hence
the project GuruJal was envisioned with the objective of “addressing the problems of groundwater
depletion, water scarcity, flooding i.e. water mismanagement in Gurugram District of Haryana” by
avoiding the duplicity in efforts, enabling better collaboration, and having holistic system’s thinking
approach.

Internship programme

Internship program offers a wide range of opportunities for graduate and post graduate students to gain
insight in the technical and administrative program of GuruJal while enriching their knowledge and
experience in the water management field. We strongly encourage interns to our work as a collective

Biodiversity Planning Intern

Qualification: Masters in Botany/ Environmental Science

Skill Required:

l Knowledge of plantation technique
l Field survey experience
l Taxonomy knowledge
l Good data analytical knowledge
l Research-based documentation

**Prior field experience in gardening, herbarium, or forest survey will get prior preference

Media and Communication Intern

Qualification: BA in Media and Communication

Skills Required:

l Creative and innovative thinker
l Good communication skills
l Report writing, presentation, and communication skills.
l Good Content writing skills
l Campaign designing and creative ideas
l In-depth working knowledge of Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn
l Experience in social – media marketing

Graphic Designer Intern

Qualification: Diploma in Graphic designing, understanding of Graphic Designing tools.
