About The Course

Introduction to business intelligence in computer science and programming. This lesson teaches students how to think critically and solve problems effectively. Topics include extraction, algorithms, data structure, wrapping, resource management, security, software engineering, and web applications Languages include C, Python, SQL as well as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. Problem sets are inspired by art, personality, social science, and science. The course culminates in the final task. Designed for concentrators and non-concentrators alike, with or without prior programming. Two-thirds of CS50 students have never taken CS before. Among the main objectives of this course are to encourage students to explore unfamiliar water, without fear of failure, to build comprehensive, shared, accessible information for all students, and to build a community among students.

How You Can Take This Course

Even if you are not a student at Harvard, you are welcome to “take” this free course through OpenCourseWare by working eleven weeks of study. If you would like to submit a set of lesson problems and a final project to get feedback, be sure to create an edX account if you have not already done so. Ask questions along the way through any of the study communities!
