Are you looking to be involved with GitHub Graduation and the chance to be featured on our social media accounts? Are you looking to develop your skills and interest and gain some real-time experience by involving in live projects.
If Yes, then we have amazing news for you all to participate in Github Graduation 2022, for which you need to make a pull request and merge your code changes to the repository containing the yearbook for GitHub Graduation 2022. By issuing a pull request to this repository, you can request to be added to the GitHub Class of 2022.
The first 7,500 pull requests successfully merged into the repository by May 27 will receive a custom trading cards, stickers, and letters in the mail.
If you want to involve in more ways We want to hear about the incredible things you accomplished this academic year and how GitHub assisted you in achieving your goals. Take a time to make a video or write a note to tell us, your teachers, and your classmates about your experience.
About GitHub Graduation
GitHub Graduation is an online graduation event for the Class of 2022’s recent (and upcoming) graduates. Join Github Graduation on stage with your international community. We’ll have special visitors on hand, give out exclusive merchandise, and spotlight student stories and projects from around the world.
Who Can Participate?
Any student who graduated in 2022 or wants to graduate in 2022 is invited to apply for the yearbook. This includes boot camps, code camps, high school grads, Master’s graduates, and Ph.D. graduates, among others.
The following are the eligibility requirements:
- The GitHub Student Developer Pack has validated your status as a student. Not a member of the Pack yet? Please apply here.
- You haven’t attended a previous GitHub Graduation event.
- In the year 2022, you identify as a graduate.
How to join the Class of 2022?
To join graduation and receive your custom trading card and stickers in the mail, follow these two steps.
- Fill out the shipping form; this must be done before producing your Pull Request (PR), and participation in the event is not guaranteed. Your PR must merge successfully into the repository, and only the first 7,500 merged PRs will be mailed cards.
- To join the Yearbook and be featured in the graduating celebration, submit a pull request with your personal information.
- Complete the shipping application.
The information provided on the swag shipment form is solely used to send graduation trading cards. You will not receive anything in the mail if you fill out the form. A shipment will be sent to the first 7,500 graduates who combine their Pull Request into the GitHub Yearbook. - Register in the Yearbook
In this guide, replace YOUR-USERNAME> with your GitHub username. Please keep in mind that YOUR-USERNAME> is case-sensitive. If your username is MonaTheOctocat, for example, using anything other than that, such as monatheoctocat or monaTheoctocat, may result in an error when submitting the Pull Request. Make sure you use the same case as your username in both the folder and file names.
First, create the folder _data/YOUR-USERNAME/
Fork this repository, create a new folder inside the _data
folder, and name it with your username. It should look something like this _data/<YOUR-USERNAME>/
. Ex.
_data/MonaTheOctocat/
Second, add your profile information
Create a markdown file in your folder following the convention <YOUR-USERNAME>.md
. Ex.
_data/MonaTheOctocat/MonaTheOctocat.md
Copy the next template into your file, delete the boilerplate data and fill the information with yours.

Finally, send in your Pull Request.
To ensure your submission is genuine, go over the checklist on the pull request template. If everything is right, the GitHub Education team will review, approve, and merge your proposal. Otherwise, the changes requested in the pull request comment section will be notified to you.
How To Win Swags?
The first 7,500 PRs that are successfully merged will receive a special holographic developer trading card in the mail, along with their GitHub status.
What exactly does this imply? To make a trading card, we’ll use information from your public GitHub profile. Please make sure your GitHub profile photo and bio are up to date, as well as the information you want to appear on your trade card.
